Bring a shovel :)
Ice fishing is a social activity that may occasionally be interrupted by the catching of fish.

Try the left-hand side up to the point. You'll probably see other people fishing there. I haven't been there yet this year. I'd be interested in hearing how you make out.

There's a real good fishing access with lots of parking on the south end of the bay but i don't know how much ice there is?

Thanks sonny
I saw the ramp on south side but I'm not crazy about it being right at the mouth of the river I tend to avoid river mouths for obvious reasons especially with a machine looking to chase some Lakers next weekend maybe I should check out outer mallets? I fished inner mallet a couple years ago I lost a nice walleye right at the hole I caught a lot of small pike as well

There's not much current coming out of that river, usually if the bay is froze the river there is froze to the same thickness. Lots of people fish in the river right at the access.

I have a friend house sitting on shelburne point about half way up the point. They said the bay has NOT frozen across the wind has broken up any ice that has caught. Be very careful out there.

Opted to stick with home waters based on temps, wind and ignorance of the Bay but hoping to get out there soon. Did a drive by yesterday and saw some folks out there.
Colchester Pond didn't disappoint today.
