Rainbows and Fried Chicken

Drove north a ways on Friday to check out a trout lake I have open water fished a few times but never on hard water. Landed 4 small perch jigging and caught 2 stocked rainbows on tip ups with also 4 hit and run flags for the day.
Colonel Original recipe for lunch and it trigged the first flag of the day

Last time I had fried chicken on the ice I got a flag and put the chicken on the snow . When I came back it was gone. I swear an eagle stole it but I never saw him . Sneaky *****s

I was back at the same lake a few days ago and picked up another rainbow and missed 2 other flags on salmon eggs. One of those was because I poorly tied a knot and missed a fish, so poorly tied, the knot “gave” and didn’t trip the flag. Jigged 5 perch that were just a little small for me to keep but looked really healthy. McDonald’s filet o fish for lunch on the way.


I was having trouble getting my wife in a shelter on ice so I popped it up in the bedroom, worked she went in.. my trap is almost complete…she’ll be ice camping soon  ;)
