Sharpen or new
« on: Nov 21, 2006, 06:11 AM »
I live in CNY, and would like to know if it is cheaper to buy new steel blades, or sharpen them.  I do not think I have anyone local that sharpens blades, and I don't want to ruin them by doing it myself.  What does sharpening cost these days?

It is an OLD(25-30 yrs) Jiffy 6 in. hand auger.  I have replaced the blades before.  It sat for 20-25 years without being used.
I love a flag!!!!

If you don't know some one reliable to sharpen them I would reccomend just buying new ones. Try fish307.  ;)

I agree with Hali-Man.  The cost of new blades is small compared to fighting with your auger.  Where abouts in CNY are you from vipercat?  I grew up in Cortland, and still have friends and family there.
