Engel Live Bait Cooler

Anybody have any experience with this live bait cooler?  Looking at the 13 qt and 19 qt version, wondering if either will handle 4 or 5 doz 4 - 5” minnows, not sure if 13 qt is big enough.

I have two Engel bait coolers and absolutely love them. For the amount and size bait you are describing, I would have to suggest the 19qt. The 13qt may work but it would be packed. Side note, the aerator that come with them works well but is loud, I keep it as a back up

I've used the Engels for years, but the Frabill Magnum Bait Station is a much better option.  Better construction.  Better pump.  Better seal.

The 19-quart units handle a bunch of bait and are manageable on the ice.

I have the 13 qt - I think that many minnows would be a little tight in there.

Like DiamonDav mentioned, aerator is loud.  My lid freezes shut too - need to figure something out to prevent that.

I do like it though - don't know if I would pay cash for it, but great use for a gift card!

I have one of the larger sized ones and it works well, the aerator is noisy so I just upgraded to a Bubs Daddy aerator.

I have the 13 and 7.5 qt. I use the 7.5 qt more often because I only bring about a dozen minnows.

I changed out the aerator to a Clam rechargeable

Also just got this which is half the price of a Clam

Both are quiet, both have two speeds, both have intermittent pumping which makes the battery last for several days..

I like the off brand one because it uses any standard USB to USB-C charging cable, which allows you to charge anywhere you have a USB source. It also has LED battery level indicators.

The clam aerator uses a proprietary charging cable and doesn’t give you an indicator for battery level.
