If you’re not looking for a float suit, I have the Simms Challenger suit and couldn’t be happier with it. Lightweight, not bulky, and plenty warm for Northern Maine.

I have a Clam suit but wanted a flotation as well for early and late ice.  I looked at a lot of different suits and ended up with the Strikemaster Surface.  So far, I really like it.  Very warn and seems to be well made.  Bring on the ice!!

Looking at the predator or hard water bibs
I’m 5’9 160.   What size would you all recommend

You should add you location to your profile ..could be a retailer near you ...best for sizing ..could also be a deal or steal as well

I would think a medium would be fine ...

I’m probably not too far from your area, on the Iowa/Illinois border here, between highway 20 and 80. In my opinion, in this area the hardwater is too much suit. Even with the Predator, you’ll be opening those vents or ditching the jacket a lot. I have the Ascent, and I take out the liners  now and then, otherwise dressed pretty lightly under it.
At your size I’d go medium and it should be roomy to layer under if needed.
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I’d consider buying the trekker suit and using the money saved to buy a good set of base layers, that way you are covered through our normally mild winters compared to other places, but can layer up for the -20 cold snaps we usually see around February
