Hole and a half
« on: Mar 03, 2008, 04:59 PM »
The Bro and I managed to get out for a couple of hours on Sun. north of Selkirk. I was surprised how thick the ice was, pretty much used all 42" of the Eskimo. After the 1st hole I noticed that there wasn't too much gas left and sure enough didn't have enough to finish the 2nd hole >:( So being brothers and sharing most of our lives we set up the tent and made the most of it :)

I managed 1 dink sauger which is slightly better than being skunked. The Bro did not do as good . At the end of the day we had some laughs, the tent survived the horrible winds and I won't need to be reminded to top up the gas b4 we go out. Though I am sure I will be! Tightlines everyone.

You should of had all 4 lines down the one hole. With a different color of jig on each one.

Yes we had 2 lines down 1 hole , it works in a pinch , but you tend to get tangled if you start jigging at the same depth. We were jigging about a foot apart , but when a fish showed on the flasher, we both went for it and usually got tangled. Heading out this aft to the "bridge to nowhere" with a full tank of gas. ;D
