Solar panel and battery bank
«

Just packed away my wheelhouse for the year. Sad day.
I have a 100 watt panel that charges two deep cycle marine batteries to run all my lights, fans, and furnace. In years past I took them out in the off season and ran them in my boat. I’ve got new batteries in the boat so I’m leaving them in the shack. Is there any reason I should disconnect the batteries and unplug the solar charge controller?

Yes, disconnect. I don't know your system, but most are protected by diodes. but diodes do fail, the batteries are fully charged (I assume) and don't need to be getting more than 13.2 v all summer long...

If their unhooked I'd still put a charger on them every month or two to top them off.
