EnergeticSky Ice Cleats Review
« on: Feb 08, 2021, 05:36 PM »
Hi Everyone,

I jumped on a pair of EnergeticSky double chain ice cleats that were on sale on Amazon a few months back.  I had a few requests to review, so here it goes.  I ordered the XL size in black and they were on sale for $21.79 at the time.  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0784RQW5C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

For the price, I am thrilled!  These feel very sturdy, well made, and they provide way better traction than the Yaktrax Pro that I used to wear.  I see no reason why they wont last 3+ years (longer than my old Yaktrax did).  My Yaktrax broke on the bottom where the rubber eventually tore.  There is no rubber anywhere on the walking surface of these, its all double chain.

One negative is that I can't wear them into my house or any other structure for that matter due to the nature of the spikes.  Seriously, that's my only complaint though.  I have noticed that when I come off the ice, the chains will jingle a bit in the parking lot (I assume from loosening up a bit after walking in them through the day).  A quick tug on the rubber tightens the chains back up in no time.  I don't really count this a drawback.

They went onto my boots pretty easy (Rocky size 12W rubber boots with 1000g insulation).  They look nice enough (not that I care).  The traction is fantastic, and they don't shift on my boots.  They came with a carry bag, but I just leave them on my boots.

Overall, I think they're a good product and a bargain for people who want great traction, but also want to save some money compared to Katoolas.  Hope this helps someone out there.

My Setup:  Otter XL sled on a smitty.  10" Strikemaster Lithium 50 Volt auger.  Clam Bigfoot XL 2000 hub.  Garmin Striker 5 Ice Bundle.

I’ve been looking for a new pair but it is hard trying to find one that I can put on my size 14 boots.  Everything I look at is for smaller sizes.  The ones that I do find in my size usually have  bad reviews.

I have a set. Second season with mine. Not one issue. Best traction compared to the others ive had, some 3x more $. I posted a review on my YouTube channel, got nothing but positive messages from folks, all saying they're the best. Haven't got one bad comment or message yet!!

I'm glad so many other people like them.  I look forward to getting years of service out of them.

I also have a set of these. I got them right after I fell on the ice 2 years ago and broke my elbow. I highly recommend them.
