ASSO Line
« on: Feb 02, 2021, 05:55 AM »
I had never heard of this brand before, just ordered some 1 pound Super Fluorocarbon and 1.5 pound Invisible Ultralight made by ASSO. Anyone ever used this stuff? How did you like it?

Thanks!

I tried the 2lb and 3lb. Personally it seemed stretchy and weak. Just my opinion.
It's more important to be nice, than it is nice to be important.

x2. Purchased some to try on Ankara/Palm rod.  Pretty brittle stuff.

From my own personal experience ASSO is one of the better dedicated ice fishing line.  Far better than most of the other "ice" lines.

There are numerous types and various formulations that one should be able to find something to their liking.  The problem is really availability and cost if one should decided to order from overseas sources.

After pulling a sturgeon that wouldn't fit an 8" ice hole with 3# ASSO ice fishing line, it's proven it's merit.  That's one of the cheap nylon line.

Just keep in mind Asso (and some of the other foreign lines) rate their pound test closer to break strength than most of the line available to us in the US.
