I quit early too.  Got stuck twice Friday, trying to get on the lake and again getting off.  Too much snow around the edge.  Once on the lake, I could get around OK.  Several inches of water/slush.  Caught a couple decent Crappie.  Didn't go out at all Saturday or Sunday.  Time to think about boats.

I ended up having a pretty late night in M.P. Sat. so I didn't wake up that early. Drove past Houghton and went to Higgins. Ended up catching 48 smelt. Started fishing right at dark, quit @ 9:30.  West Lake Access, from shore walked South and fished 15 fow.

Ice was 12" in most places. The bottom 6 was pretty good everywhere, but the top 6 was spotty. I'm sure after the rain last night it lost some.

My cuz went out on the home lake this weekend....3 LG Bass over 5lbs, 1 10lb pike, 2 15lb+ carp, and a total of about 40 fish in a morning. Spring is here boys....Put new line on the reel and stock up on husky jerks!
