A few years back at the ice shanty get together, a bunch of us brought in some homemade items to raffle off and have a good time.
It was great to put faces with names, meet some new friends, and hear a bunch of great stories told in person.
I was amazed at the talent and generosity that people like roccus displayed and a few of us were lucky enough to win some great homemade gear.
I can’t remember the gentleman’s name, but he brought a few small homemade steel ice chisels that work great for chipping out your traps etc. I remember saying to my buddy, wow.... I wish I could have won one of those chisels, that was a great idea and a useful tool... you can’t buy stuff like that.
The gentleman must have heard me say that, the next year at the get together he sought me out and gifted me one. I was amazed!
I use that chisel all the time, and if any of you happen to know the gentleman that gifted it to me, let him know how much I appreciate it.
Maybe some day we can all get together again...
