What have you been up to.
« on: Dec 23, 2020, 01:00 PM »
Couldn't fish yesterday since it was like 45-50*f and the ice was pretty sketchy even though there was 5in....with open water on the pond again.

So....I did a few mods & refurbished some Mora augers. I put a vexilar lithium battery in my double vision. Made some panfish jig heads. Plastic welded the holes in my ice sleds for a nylon pull rope on my clam voyager & my Eskimo wide one inferno. Then I took a dremel and cut off all the bolts that extended beyond the nut.....no more catching crap or skinning my knuckles.

I've done everything I can need some weather to cooperate to get some ice time.

I did make some fish tacos from the blue gill I caught earlier today for the boys.....yum yum.

Getting my gear ready and checking it twice! Now all I need is 4" of safe ice!

Getting stuff ready, making rods - heading north over the weekend/next week

surprisingly I still have some ice on my pond after this warm/windy weather. Should be fishable when I get back next week.

Looking to get out today and hopefully all week since I'm off! Pretty sure we finally have enough ice here, in most places at least.

Spent the weekend going through my gear. Good bad or otherwise I switched my power box over to dewalt 20v batteries since i have so many of them now, the adapter and voltage reducer is actually setup so that it can be pulled from my power box and be used on a flasher in a pinch. In case anyone was worried you can fit both otter seats, the sportsman caddy and the new sidekick console in an otter lodge. Had some gift cards and money from Christmas so I did what any ice angler does, went to Scheels and blew it on ice fishing gear. Bought a camera that i will be able to use 2-3 times a year. Found 2 of my 8 bait pucks. I am ready to go fishing! Work will slow down drastically after the end of the month, so i will finally have some time to fish in the afternoons once in awhile. Quad is fueled up and everything is ready, just need some good ice!!!!!
