Ling and Leeches

Anyone have luck using live leeches for ling?

I can't imagine it wouldn't work but never heard of anyone using them.

I'd try them, they'd probably work just as good as anything else

If you are talking through the ice, I'm guessing few have tried because live leeches typically aren't available in the winter months.  I would imagine you could catch them in the summer on leeches but I have never tried or inadvertently caught one on a leech while jigging walleye or perch.  We have inadvertently caught a small handful of ling through the ice with maggots on a jig.  For best results we use chunks of sucker meat.

I have caught several over the years jigging leeches in the spring, not a repeatable pattern, just by-catch while targeting walleye.
