4amp battery fpr Octane
« on: Jan 23, 2020, 06:02 PM »
I have some 4amp batteries from my Rigid GX5 drill.   Also have the 9 amp battery for Rigid Octane but wondered if 4 amp would work as backup.

Should.
Just wont last very long. But that 9 will go quite aways.

How long would a 4amp battery last on a brushed Dewalt 20v drill with a 6" nils in let's say about 8" of ice?

Todalake, what size/type of auger are you turning? Last winter I drilled 27 holes through about 17" of ice with the Ridgid Octane and 3ah battery turning the 6" lazer auger with shaver blades.

The 9 AH will last you most of the day.  I think I can get about 60-80 holes with my 9 AH Octane and a 6" auger.  I've only ever used my 2nd battery 2 or 3 times.
