Went night fishing for crappie 1-23. only 2 nibbles, no iced crappie :(
Went day fishing for crappie1-24, snagged 1 smol crappie and 1 smol pike.
went day fishing for trout at my hot-spot. was a million people there (very unusual). must have put them off as the standard fare did not work. Pimples/raps/worms/etc. NO BITES, many lookers, but no takers.

switched to a , of all things, Mooshka jig and magically started hooking trout. Mooshka jigs are tungston jig heads i use for crappie. the hell!

no crappie dinners but plenty of fried trout this weekend! hope you all had a good weekend!

First pike

The ranger wanted to see how my vex worked, while showing him how to read it i got this little guy!

Ice fishing can be tough for those crappies. The bite and quality of crappie in that lake is much better in the summer

You are tellin' me brother. i fish it with buddies from a boat mid-summer, when the river bite dies.

Went out a week or so ago and the bite was decent, 9 fish in 5 hours. kept 7. biggest was 11 smallest was like 8 .

made a good dinner.

Thursday i couldn't locate a school (night time) - but found individuals here and there.

Friday i found the school but couldnt get on them fast enough, they were constantly on the move- and spooky. they would spook from my skimmer hitting the side of the hole....

i thought river trout were spooky, this is a whole new ballgame lol
