Dec8th ice conditions
« on: Dec 09, 2019, 11:41 AM »
This is from the weekend report for Northwest Albany county.
We had customers report the ice on some local ponds and lakes.
Thompson had 2 to 3 inches on the outer edges but still open water. They were on the ice fishing Friday and Saturday. not sure with 50Deg coming up.
Warrners lake is still open as far as I know.
Partridge run  small ponds in the DEC land are frozen. Was given that they are at 4 to 5 inches but still be careful.
Mariaville lake I have no reports yet. im assuming that is still open.

Several different tracks leading out. After this warm spell I would be cautious. Would need to check actual ice thickness in a given area and report back...... Stay dry.

As of a few days ago over half the lake was wide open from last weeks warm weather. Was a few holes drilled off launch in close but past that ice pick went right through. Maybe after this week

Near launch thin weak open shore. Water in deeper part. Could see ice from holes drilled straight out about 200 yards. Unless the shores get locked up for walking out I wouldn't take a chance......
