I dont use the one attached to the tips anymore .. But yes the eyes were on top..

Tips of the skis ...make sure the knot is on the inside/top of ski ..that way you will be lifting as you traverse up down the terrain/ice.

yep this is how ive done all my smittys.drill a hole in ski tips and run the rope in from the bottom and tie some knots.

I have mine in the tips. I might be changing it to both. I don't know if it really matters.......
