Bear Lake
« on: Jan 12, 2019, 05:39 AM »
I was out by bear lake almost 2 weeks ago. It was totally frozen over. Saw tracks by the state launch on the ice. Didn't look like they went to far. Has anyone seen anyone on it yet? Not sure of the snowfall there either. I live in Angola and have no more than a dusting. Lot higher elevation there. I'm assuming their is snow insulating what was on the start of perfect ice.

The ice report app has 2 different people saying it has 4-5" of ice. Haven't confirmed for myself though.

How’s it going? Does anyone actually catch fish on bear lol... spent 5 hours out there yesterday not even a bite, switched up gear, switched up bait, moved around still nothing.

I haven't fished it much in the past few years. I usually try and target walleye and perch. There is crappie and bluegill there. Musky as well. I also heard there were walleye there. Not sure about that. Good luck.

Finally have my gear ready. I'm going to check out bear tomorrow. Then maybe check out chatauqua. Anyone else going to be fishing on bear tomorrow?
