Spring loaded flip up skis
« on: Dec 31, 2018, 10:32 AM »
Got this idea off a facebook page and put it to use. Pop up skis.  its pretty stable and im confident it will preform well.   I have not tried it out on ice yet but should be able to in the next week or 2.   heres a link to a video I put on youtube.

That's not bad.

It's a limited use/need modification, as it only raises and lowers the sled height.
Now if the skis were retractable, say up to the base of the sled, like recessed into one of the runner gaps on the bottom, so that storage would be easier. Of course that adds more potential breakdown issues in the long run, so I would leave it as is.....

I like the fact that the skis come up past the bottom of the sled that way they are off the ice and wont build up ice while your fishing. also if you have to drag on dirt , gravel or pavement a short distance you can drag on the sled and not ruin your skis
