Lake Louise

(Long time reader, First time poster)
Just wondering if anybody has been to Lake Louise recently and if it is accessible with a truck because we don't have snowmachines, if it is accessible where is a good spot to get on the ice.  I know I probably need a extension for my hand auger as the ice is probably pretty thick.
I would like to take my wife and kids up there and get them on one of them monster lakers or a nice burbot.  Thanks in advance for any info and it is Greatly Appreciated.

I've heard of some decent Lakers iced up there recently-15 to 20 lb range.  Hoping to make it up towards the end of the month, if I do I'll give a report

Hopefully will be going up this week or weekend if I can get away from work - will post any success or failure - I'm trying to find an extension for my hand auger but I can't locate one all of the ones ive found have been one size too big.  I guess I could always take my spud w/ me if my strikemaster bottoms out.  I did get a couple sets of extra blades that were on clearance at Wally's
