That is the real deal right there...don't have any fish mounted on the wall but if I caught a world record it would be for sure a WALL HANGER!  Nice fish and it looks great on that custom made mount.  Pretty cool thanks for sharing.

Is that something the stores do? I've seen the big trophies in those stores but figured they were donated or acquired on their guided hunts/charters

Thats not that big of a Crappie. It couldn be a world record.  Seen a guy catch a 19 1/2 last year on Jan 2nd. I have caught some that were all but 18".

they sure do. once the word was out i'm sure it was a bidding war, of coarse, only if he wanted to sell it.

Record fish are brought home and eaten all the time  ::) first someone would need think it’s a record first, then weigh it and look up the record. Then comes submitting the record by getting officials to witness and document it.

Yes I eat them records all the time (world or state record)...My 25" tullibee would've been a record for the books but it went to the belly instead because I caught two of them that size.  Everything else was 21" and shorter.  ;D

I used to catch a good share of 22"+ white bass that just goes into my belly.  Easily a dozen or more of them.  Now I can't catch one over 19" and what I used to catch in one hour is now like a whole day of fishing.  It used to be, no one fishing...now it's like I can't get a spot to fish without three people crossing line and tangling up.

A 14" rock bass, is like a bass and not that dinky panfish we catch all the time that people get disgusted with.  Haven't caught any over 11" for a long time now.  MN state is 13.5" only.

If I caught that crappie, it would've been in my belly too.  MN state record black crappie is 21" so I haven't even come close to that.  Now I learn that old fish, aren't as tasty...so I would've release it with respect...not even a photo.  No crappie over 15" for me, unless they aren't gonna make it.
