Nero Mini Just a reference.
« on: Aug 06, 2018, 01:18 PM »
When you buy the Nero you don't need an adapter to use with just the drill. Here is my setup and the plastic on top is just an old piece of Truck bed liner which works great in case the chuck comes loose.

It slips up and down a little but never gets in the way of drilling.

you could abbreviate that by using a smaller section of thick plastic and drill two holes opposite sides and run a length of 1/4" bungee thru the holes with a knot on each end. have the bungee goes over the heel of the drill like icemaster adapters do.

Yeah I thought about that but it works real good as is. By the way 3300, I am now using my Ridgid Drill to pull my small boat onto a trailer with a winch. Boat Weighs 130 Pounds and with Battery,Trolling motor,Gear and seats I would say just about 200 lbs.

Just removed the handle pulled the strap completely out and then put the drill in forward gear and it works great. It pulls the boat without a problem. I will have the wife run the drill though and I will lift the boat on one end and walk it up the drop down ramp I have on the trailer. The older I get the easier I want things.

How thick of a disc would you need for this?

I like the disc with bungee system, that way i can drill lower than where that plate is into the ice.  Just curious how thick of plastic it would need to be to support the weight of the bit

A disc with bungee cords is an accident waiting to happen.

Curious why this is an accident waiting to happen?  It’s not a PTO shaft spinning at hundreds of RPM

Nero fully extended. 46" blades to tip where your Drill attaches. This is 4" longer than the Eskimo 8 and 10" auger bits.

Considering the icemaster adapter is about a 3” non sharp disc thats no where near me when drilling and ive used it 5 years now..ill take the chance.ive seen way more dangerous setups, like the adapter with bolts hanging out or the large aluminum disk.i still run a jiffy 1 arm bandit.the icemaster adapter is alot safer than that.
