Now that it is trademarked no one can steal your idea and mass produce them.  Good job.  Got one this year, should have got one years ago.

A trademark isn’t a patent. Anyone can make and sell them with a similar name. Many companies make sleds with skis.The trademark is for the name / logo, hopefully you paied for the international trademark or its probably only good in your state.

I'm sure you are fine.  Did you use an attorney or a service like Legal Zoom to apply for your TM?  Just curious as the process is interesting to me.  It isn't as straight forward as some think.

If you ever tried one you would know what the big deal is. You go from dragging your sled to letting your 5 year old pull it out on the lake for you.

Did you ever pull a flat bottom Ice shanty or fish trap across a lake with 10-12" of light powdery snow?  My experience has shown me that the flat bottom ice huts push the snow instead of riding on top and you can get quit a pile of snow in front.  With a Smitty  Sled the 2" wide runners cut through the snow and holds your flat bottom sled up and out of the snow.  Very easy to pull through deep snow.  Until you have tried one you won't know the ease.  Buy a kit or make your own.

The trademark is only for the name/ logo. And is normally only good for the state your in. You can apply for an international trade mark that covers it completely. The cost is just much more. Again only the name tho. Someone else could sell the same exact kit as similar name and you can’t do anything about it. If you want to protect your design that’s different story. You cant patent putting skis on a sled. It just won’t happen. But you can patent the way you attach the frame to the body something along those lines that makes your product stand out.that takes professional research,blueprints, specs, lawyers , time, and Boat load of cash.After doing all that it’s not a sure thing they will grant it to you. You’ll also need to start an llc to protect your self and for state taxes if you already haven’t. Depending on how much you make on the selds will determine if it’s worth it or not.
