There are Def pike in mallets especially around the weedy areas. Haven't been down there this year yet, the recent flooding we've had may have things pretty dirty but I can't say for sure.

Seems to be the norm this year..Tons of dinky perch this year Ive been finding, and alot of them are females. Not sure if its a generational thing or lack of food but they have all been tiny on Champlain this year.

In the warmer weather I catch them in various places throughout the bay.  During the hardwater season I'm on foot and stick relatively close to the launch where I occasionally catch pike.  Only been out in that area once this season with nothing to show for it but a few tiny perch.

hey guys!  heading up there this weekend to chase (and hopefully catch) some pike.  was thinking mallett's but if anyone has any spots that would be more likely to produce a few the help would be appreciated.  it's my only trip to VT this season and a lot of driving to get skunked...:p  Thanks!

In the warmer weather I troll the shoreline starting at the mouth of the outer bay towards the inner bay up the shore line on the Niquette side.  That's more than I'm willing to drag a sled in the winter so I stick towards the launch which is hit or miss.  You might want to consider sandbar state park if you're in the area.  Haven't been there yet this year but have done well there for pike in the past.  Dockside bait shop is conveniently near by for live bait too.

thanks.  i am bringing up a 4wheeler so as long as i can find parking for the truck and trailer i'll be able to cruise around out on the water to find some fish.

I would think anywhere you find shallow weedy water would be just as good as any spot.  Careful out there...we just had warm weather with rain followed by some snow and deep freeze.  Wondering about ice conditions and cracks as out get out past the channel.

I would head north on Rt 2.  Lots of good pike spots along Rt 2 in the Islands .... South side of Sandbar, Keeler's Bay, The Gut, Carry Bay, to name a few.  Good luck!

Thanks for the tips.  We did the gut a few years back and had some luck.  Easy access with the knight’s pt parking lot which is why I was thinking mallet’s too as i know there’s the parking lot there by the public boat ramp plus rossi’s is right there for a burger and a couple cold ones on the way out...:). Dprue i’m down by cape cod but have a cottage on sebago so i spend a ton of time in maine too.
