So I've got an Eskimo Inferno Wide 1 insulated shack coming....I'm wondering if my Coleman golf cart heater that is 3,000 BTU would be enough to heat it since it will be insulated.......just wondering what guys are using for BTU on a hut like this.

I tried my golfcat and it works....

My eskimo 949i (insulated) has 64 square feet, my Mr. Heater on 9,000 low is to much when it is 15 degrees and windy out.  Like horse power in hot rods, when in doubt ad cubic inches or in this case too much is much better than too little.  My Mr. Heater cost me $46 plus a propane bottle I already had. Hard to beat.

I've got a Mr heater cooker I use in my un insulate clam voyager.....works well. I had a MR heater Big Buddy didn't work for crap.

My buddy has a Otter flip insulated and a MR heater cooker on low can cook a guy out of the shack....

From my first experiance with a MR heater Big buddy, I hate the Buddy heaters......hard to light, blew out all the time and didn't heat for crap.

I guess I'll try the golf cart heater.....if it isn't enough, I'll just take out the Mr heater cooker. Just thinking space in a one man is a premium, and the golf cart heater be a little safer then a mr heater cooker.

Single propane canister/heater mount

Give a man a fish he eats for a day .Teach a man to ice fish he has an obsession for a lifetime

Not a bad idea.....might have to look into doing that.

depends how cold it is but my bro in law runs a coleman lantern which is less or around the same btu and stays warm in his inferno.he  also runs the little buddy which is a few more btus and its toasty in there when its 10 degrees outside.those thermals hold heat great.

I have a Clam Vista thermal 6x6 that I heat with a portable Buddy heater. I usually leave 1 door flap partly open with the heater on low aprox 4,000 btu's . Holes stay open and comfortable for me without a jacket. Last week on Vermilion it was 4 deg with a little wind I used 1/12 tanks propane.
Oops! is too late.

I run my buddy heater on low in my inferno, it's toasty. Almost never use the high setting. I would try the heater you have and if you need more then upgrade. The inferno is a good especilaly with a little snow on the ice to pack it in.

I have the Eskimo Wide-1 and use my Mr. Buddy Heater.  I have mine mounted in the tub on some brackets.  I have to use it on the low setting otherwise it gets too warm in the tent.

I have the Wide 1 Inferno, at 26 degrees, my buddy heater is too much on low.
I warm it up, turn back to pilot and back on for a little bit when it warms up again.
Amazing to me how much the thermal shelters make a difference.
I was thinking of trying of those low BTU heaters, or maybe just my lantern for heat
Get bit!

I use a portable buddy heater and that's plenty of heat on low.
