PB Northern Pike

Fished yesterday and ended up with 2 pike at 25.25" and 36.5".  I released the bigger one and was rewarded for it today.  Had 2 tip ups out for several hours and only had 1 flag all day but it was the one I've been waiting on since I started ice fishing.  Pike went 42.5" and will be the 1st fish I put on my wall.  This was the ultimate way to wrap up my 2017 fishing season :tipup:

May I ask "What Lake ?" My PB in Indiana is from Syracuse Lake at 43" and 16#. Yours should be in that range.

A lot of big northerns in Indiana lakes. I hope to get these done in a next few weeks. Another one in the 40 inch range has been picked up and I am waiting for two replica blanks to come in. Can't remember if the released fish came from Indiana though.

That said anything over 40 inches is a definite trophy.

BTW as a angler I'll take a northern over a musky any day. I don't know why but musky don't do anything for me.

Anybody else feel that way?

No but I've see posts on Myfishfinder where people claim they love to eat them and the musky guys go berserk! ;D

In case I'm repeating this I apologize, but once had a couple of guys bring in a musky to mount. Said they as soon as they got it to the boat a guy came buzzing over in his boat and pleaded with them to release it. Apparently he was a musky guide. Said it was his, "Bread and Butter."  I told them you should have said keeping it was MY bread and butter.  ;D.
