Oops.  In Saskatoon it was +4C this morning too. The - should have been a grammatically correct .

Made the mistake of putting the boat away at first snow last year. Wont be doing that again this year. There were 2 more months of open water.

yea i sure hope this fall isn't like last year, what a debacle.  all that snow sure did help cool off the lakes though!

-1 in Martinsville last night. Taking the boat to the Blackstrap Saturday. Hopefully turnover starts soon. With any luck some of the green will have died off. I haven't been there since the end of June and it was pretty green then.

drove through a blizzard last night and woke up to a couple inches of snow on the ground this morning.  sure looks nice but unfortunately i don't think it'll stay.  starts cooling the lakes off though

I've been holding out for 1 more nice weekend on the water. Picked some leg oil and fogging oil, but I keep putting it off. Buddy bagged a 17lbs pike that weekend we went out to the strap, and I would like another day to try, but its getting awfully cool at night.

I hear you. I went out last Friday only to find out later that Bradwell had a large fish die off in the spring. Found this out after talking to one of the guys from the fishing hole. Went to Blackstrap and had the fight the waves for one fish. Water temps were still 52F so the lake hasn't flipped yet, Bradwell water was 48F and has flipped all the weeds and muck were at the surface.

Finally pulled the pin on the boat this weekend. Leg oil is change, and she is fogged. I came to the realization with Mule deer season around the corner, and pig butchering coming up, open water season is over for me. Bring on the ice baby. Perhaps the Eskimo will get a tune up in before the snow hits this year!

We are just now getting our first taste of winter, -4C this morning. It will be a while yet up here.

Got a nice lake trout last Thursday while trolling for moose on Little Salmon Lake.

Oh yeah it's happening!! Been wanting a cabin forever and finally pulled the trigger on one at Whelan Bay. Now I have a more northern base of operations for Deschambault/Oskikibuk trips and other sled in adventures. I said I was going to hit the ice hard last year but it never really happened. This year is different, I can feel it...
well if you were me then i'd be you and i really wouldn't know what the hell I was talking about...
