I keep reading other posts. now, instead of a single switch, I am thinking 3 switches mounted on the battery box. Will a junction box work ? will there be enough power going thru the brass bar to the wires to light up the 600 LED lights? Using a fishfinder battery for power. Flasher will have a separate battery.                                                                                                                       http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sierra-Four-Gang-Junction-Block-Fs40670/272516280367?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160727114228%26meid%3D960470ab5de34b01bb8551c006d52572%26pid%3D100290%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D272516280367&_trksid=p2060778.c100290.m3507

Why not just use a head lamp?

not enough light. with my luck, it'll pop off my head and go down the hole. Besides. I have to make it complicated so my brother can't copy it! LOL

Because a headlamp is more of a spot light, whereas LED lighting is general, all over, indirect lighting.

Judging from the picture that junction block will be more than big enough. The LED strip lights come in several sizes, the two most common are 3528 and 5050 sizes. A 5 meter strip (300 lights) will draw about 24 watts for the 3528 and about 70 watts for the 5050.
To be honest I think you may have more lighting than you need, I have about 200 lights of the 3528 size and it gives lots of light for a 6'X8' shack.

thanks. I was actually worried that the battery would not send enough juice through. my light strip is a 5 meter 3528 super bright

I just read your previous post, you ordered the 600 light size, so you will be drawing about 48 watts not the 24 watts that I previously stated.
When you get them all lit up, it should look like a tanning bed.

HAHA! that's why 3 light switches so I don't have to wear sunglasses. the beauty of these strips is that if there is too much light, I can cut some off

Just thought I would share some pics of my modifications on my Otter Lodge pro.  I hard mounted a battery box with full control panel.  I have an a few circuits wired, all with independent fuses so if one shorts out my other circuits are still operational.

The first switch is main power with main fuse.
Second switch is overhead fans, fused.
Third switch is overhead LED lights, fused.
Fourth switch is lower LED lights, fused.
Fifth switch is USB port power.
Sixth switch is momentary, and voltage check.

Both lights are hooked up to a wireless dimmer and flasher.  The flashing is great when a buddy is trying to find your house in the dark.  Just turn the lights up to 100%, and hit the mode button and it flashes like a disco....showing him very clearly where you are if the shades are open.

Also it has an external battery charging plug that can charge the internal battery in the unit, be used to power your Flasher if it goes dead, or the unit can be powered by your flasher if the units internal battery goes dead.  Works great with the jumper tabs on a Vexilar Ultra Pack.

Enjoy the photos and if anyone wants help to wire something similar, let me know! (the wiring is a bit messy, but its all cleaned up and routed with the tubes now)

Head lamps have come with a wide area light for years now. I can light up my whole flip over with one of the smallest lightest ones they make. They also come with a red lite. Not to mention you can use it while walking out on the ice when its early and low light and tend holes in the dark. Dunno, seems like alot of unnecessary weight and work.

Looks cool tho i guess.
