Go To Crappie Lure

If you were going strictly for crappie for the day and could only take one lure, what lure would you choose?

I would take the no longer made Gentz Bug. That is about all I use and have consistent success with. They don't make it anymore so when I heard that a few years ago I looked online at several different places and bought all I could. The spousal unit (aka ministry of finance) was not pleased. I guess when you spend a couple hundred on fishing lures the size of an earring I should have expected some frowns.

Another thing I do that I found makes a difference is, I soak all my finesse plastics in Gulp! Alive fluid. I think that added scent to the plastics really helps--and 80% of days on ice I never use/need live bait. I do use the maggots and sometimes I just squeeze the juices from them on the plastics or lures instead of adding live bait.
Main reason is I want the lure in front of the fish as much as possible and not waste time (especially on a hot bite) rebaiting and fumbling with stuff when it's cold!

Berkley Atomic dogbone in pink. It is a powerbait and works great on all panfish as well as perch and bass. I've been using these now for 2 years and always catch fish on it.
