Old Tipup Repair
« on: Feb 25, 2004, 10:25 PM »
Hi all,
I have been reading this board for a while and I like to thank everyone for all the info.

I have been out of icefishing for about 15 years and started again with my son.  I have 8 tipups and they still work.  They needs some grease in the trigger tube(they have been sitting a while).  What kind of grease do I put in there?  I am worried that I might put something in there that the fish might sense and stay away.  These tipup are old, some were built by my Grandfather.

I was off and got to fish today with my father and I caught three bass and some panfish.

Thanks

Chris

I have a picture, can I post it somehow?

Hockey,
you can get lube called Blue Lube thats made for ice fishing but lithium grease will work as well. Pictures can be posted. best way to learn is go to the Frequently asked Questions thread and read about posting pics. There is a bit of a trick to it but if you follow the directions you can do it.
