Heading to holter

Thinking about heading to holter this weekend for perch any pointers for jigs or a set up?

Halis are good, but their delicate hooks can break if you bend them out of shape a few times when removing the hook from a fish. If you go that route, I suggest to rig up a few rods ahead of time. This way, if you break a hook, you can simply grab another rod and keep fishing without taking time during a hot bite to tie on a new Hali.

An alternative to using a Hali is to use a small jig like a Rat Finkee on a 3" dropper below a hookless Swedish Pimple. I learned of this method several years ago from reading In Fisherman's "Ice Fishing Secrets".
