Been there twice, ice is good 8-10 inches near access ,but gets thinner as you head north. There are about a dozen shanties out. There was about 6 inches out near island. Be careful if you go much farther north, there is a definite change from older thicker ice to newer thinner ice that was only 2-3 inches on Saturday.  I did see ATVs headed that way on Sunday but I didn't venture up that way. I only caught some small perch and small pike, no bass.

Hey guys new to the forum and in Vermont on our honeymoon from Pennsylvania. We're staying in east Middlebury and would like to fish lake Dunmore. With no knowledge of the area I was wondering if the south end of Dunmore was still fishable and where we cab park for access and get some live bait. Planning on fishing it tomorrow. Thanks Joe!

You can get bait at the campersville store on the north end of lake on rt 53. There is an access on south end but NO PARKING except on the ice. North end of lake not open to fishing until Saturday. There is also a fish and game access on west side of lake , but not sure if ice is good enough to use it yet. Let us know how you do, Good Luck.

Thanks fish hard for the info. Drove down Indian trail, saw the access area but like you said NO PARKING. We ended up hitting Fern Lake for an hour, 9" over there marked a few fish, no takers. Headed to Larrabees Point in the morning. Thanks guys.

It will be s while before the north end is safe. Seems most people use truck wheelers and sleds to get to and around the north end. Doubt we'll be seeing that any time soon
