For all the maps I've come across, I never knew there were free Bathymetric maps for some of the lakes.

I'm going to be trying out Promised Land Lower Lake for the first time on the ice, and stumbled across these.

I was looking at this site the other. Very useful but I had to use me pc since I couldn't open the Zip drives on my iPhone. I wish I had the Tobyhanna map when I was there last.

I found some of those maps on each State Park web-site last winter - I don't think they added any.  I sent them(DNCR) an e-mail asking when they were going to add more maps a month or so back and never received an answer.

Promised Land for example has no depth map on their page, yet is listed on the above link.

The problem with the gene pool is that there is no lifeguard.

Not sure if you can print this but here is a link to a map on the Lackawanna state park.  Actually maps on many places just zoom to the area your looking for.  These are the maps we upload from our sonars and combined with other peoples maps until the entire lake is completed.

Thanks very much for sharing esox!  The PA fish commission and DCNR websites have some really great resources for fishermen.  There's lots of great info on both.  In case there are some lakes you would like to see that are not included on either site, there is a site where you can buy detailed maps online for a number of lakes in northeast PA: www.poconolakemaps.com  I believe Con Walton may have been a sponsor on this site a number of years ago.

The maps show depths, contours and even structure like weeds and timber for a number of Pocono area lakes. These are large, laminated maps so you can take them to the lake without fear of destroying them.  More importantly, they are very inexpensive.  I think the most expensive map is $6.00.  I'm not sure how old these maps are but they should be fairly accurate.

Chris - I checked the website and they do have a map for Lackawanna.

Chris when you mentioned Lackawanna I remembered I have a very nice depth map for that lake. I was trying to remember where it came from until I saw butchers post cause that is indeed where I got mine. Think I got one from him for White Deer as well. Good info guys!

Thank you very much, ESOX.  This will be extremely helpful as a couple of the "new to me" places I want to hit this year (Sayers and Hills Creek) are on this list.  Now I just need to keep researching to see if I can find other lakes that aren't in a state park...such as Hunter's Lake.
If you ain't havin fun, you ain't doing it right.

Stop in the park office too...most of them have maps available and they're free.
