vehicles on sabattus lake
« on: Feb 09, 2006, 12:45 PM »
After you messaged me Bluefin, I took a drive around the lake at lunchtime to see if I could find a place closer to my shack to access the lake from. I didn't have any luck, most camp roads are posted, but I thought I'd let everyone know that there's a pickup truck on the ice at Marr's Point and aSuburban about 15' off shore at Nason's Beach.

I thought I'd modify this post, so's not to give everyone the wrong idea.....I was asked if I had seen any vehicles on the lake on wednesday. I hadn't seen any then, but yesterday I did. The LAST thing I wanna see is someone go through. I apologize for any misleading interpretation of my post. I was just letting everyone know there were a couple trucks out there.. :-\

when we were at Martin's Point yesterday, the ice at the launch was pretty thin, we had to pull the shanty on from between the rocks on the north cove, so hopefully the next few days will stiffen the boat launch side up a bit. The access at Nason's Beach was pretty rutted up, need good clearance to get onto the ice. The pickup truck at Marrs Point had gotten on the ice between some No Trespassing signs between a couple houses right on the camp road to Marrs Point. Either he knows the home owner or just said to h#ll with the sign.

i would really ruin the trip if a fellow shanty member drowned in his truck just for a few measly fish. 4 wheeler or sled is the way to go!
