Anyone been out to see ice conditions. Thinking of heading out in a few weeks. Just wondering what the ice thickness is looking like. Any information is appreciated. Thanks

Everyone was telling me 12 inches. Was out today. Power lines 8 inches. Old road bed 8 inches. Under the bridge 6 inches. Seen some trucks on. I walked. How was the fishing? Didnt catch a single fish. Missed 2 weak bites. Only two tgings that showed up the flasher. Fished from 1 to 6

Went out today for something to do. Didn't expect much as i'm pretty sure this cold front slowed down the fishing. Only see a couple marks on the fish finder, tried close to a rock pile in 9 feet, on the river wall 18, in the river 28, on the road bed 7, etc.. only was able to get a couple marks showing up on the sonar. Only managed to get 1 11 inch walleye, and another hit on the rod. Overall a poor day of fishing. For sure the worst for me since the 20 years I've been going there for this time of the year. Talked to atleast 5 different groups and only seen 1 other with a small walleye.

My son was fishing further south on the lake and on the 24th they caught 15 walleye and on the 26th pulled out over 20 of all sizes. Biggest was a 24 1/2" walleye. They ran out of bait. 8" of ice.

Fished in a hardside shack in the south for a couple hours yesterday (Jan 10) from about 3:30 pm till dark. Iced a couple small walleye 11" and 14" and marked only one or two more that showed no serious interest. Measured ice at 16" thick.

Bump!
Just wondering if any of you has fished LOTP yet?
If so, how thick is the ice and did you have any luck?
Do any of you guys ever fish the more Northern part say around the Roblin and Togo Bridges in winter, with any luck?

Plenty of good solid ice ... measured 14 inches this morning.
My experience is that the bite has been very sporadic and light, at least in the southern areas of LOTP. Can spend several hours marking nothing at all. Best times usually mid-late afternoon, then totally dead by dark. No perch, some small pike but mostly small walleye, a few decent eater size. Haven't been near the Robin bridge, so can't comment on that.
