I made a sun shield for my LX-9 out of black craft foam, 2 pieces for a buck at the dollar store.  Style it after the sun shields videographers use, join the corners with a good fabric tape, slide it on your monitor and there you go.

Easy!  Cheap!  Folds up for transport and costs a buck to make a new one when you finally destroy it!

I'll look for some of that foam.do you attach it with Velcro..
