I got a report yesterday from a team from erie that the ice held through the weekend on misery bay; however. Noone was on the ice. We just need a few days below zero and we will be good to go.

Nice job thanks again for the video!
What are you going to do,just stand there and worry about it? IF that's the card you're dealt that's the card you play.Just pick up the slack and keep on going.

Do you release the fish?Looks like this would be a strain on the population during these tournaments.Would of hated to be on a trip there not knowing the tourney was going on that day.Looks like fun if your into that.Congrats.

Our tournaments have a 10 panfish fish limit well below the state limit of 50 per person. During a typical tournament about half the teams would catch their 10 fish limits. In addition I read all biological creel studies to ensure a tournament would not hurt the lake. In 2007 a study was conducted catching over 2500 bluegill and 2500 perch in one day. In addition I send a catch report to the commissions biologists after each event tracking all fish brought to the weigh in.  I have all the statistics of catches on our Facebook page for everyone to see.  The state uses this information for additional biological studies. They view the tournaments as a free creel study which does not cost tax payers money.  They know what a lake can handle prior to issuing a permit.  If the commission feels a lake could not handle a tournament,  no permit is issued.

We would love to have you. If there is ice somewhere,  we will be there  ;D .  We just had some big name sponsors come on board, so expect even bigger and better things for next year.  we still have our event on misery bay planned for the 5th and a back up date of the 19th hopefully we can make something happen.

awesome explanation gus! alot of guys are against tournaments but are simply miss informed or to stubborn to realize we don't hurt the lake and why would we want to? Not good fishing a tournament at a fished out lake! From my experience with tournaments is that locals and others see a lakes true potential and then bombard the Lake and take  more fish than the tournament did.
