Fishing Friday??
« on: Feb 16, 2016, 10:13 PM »
Hoping to get on some ice at Rohunta or possibly Tully on Friday the 19th. Some cold nights coming. Ice should firm up.   I'm usually fishing solo mid week but given the mixed bag we have had this year I know it would be smarter to fish with somebody else.  Anybody interested??  Shoot me a PM   Thanks    Rick

I'm heading out to Rohunta this morning (Friday). Hoping to get there around 830-9. I don't know the ice conditions so get there before me and check it out! Lol. Hope it good because I drive about an hour to get there.

Slow day. Only a couple bass and pickerel. Nothing jigging. 4-6 inches of ice.

Was good to meet you Red.  Safety in numbers right?  The place I told you I was going worked out OK.  Steady flags on crawlers, mostly hit and runs.   (Flagg's was still closed so no shiners)  Lots of small stuff jigging but one 22" pickerel.   About 7" good ice at Rohunta in the North basin a couple hundred feet out from the dam.   Hopefully we get through the next warm up and fish in to March

c-kane    Drove by Mattawa today after leaving Rohunta  99% locked up but ice  looked to be pretty varied including a few random holes along the road edge  Not a soul on the ice which is unusual for Mattawa.  The North basin  of Rohunta along 202 should be fine tomorrow.  Just don't get too close to the dam where the water flows out.  Have fun

67f, it was a pleasure to not fish alone. It was the same after you left. A couple flags and one am small pickerel. I took a lap around all of our jig holes for nothing but exercise.  If the ice holds we should get together again on a different water that you know.

Sounds like a good day! You must've been slipping around everywhere without spikes.
