Good day on the ice
« on: Jan 24, 2016, 01:38 PM »
Met up with Chiselhead1, Ice warrior, Snaggletooth and Clamshack yesterday at a local pond. My son and 2 of his friends joined us as well. Later in the morning, another of my friends showed up, and the pond was pretty well covered with tilts. We had a great day. The flags were going off, the grills were cooking, and it was fun to meet some other guys who love this awesome sport.  Largest Bass caught  today weighed 4 lbs 15oz. A couple other 3 lbers too. Late in the  day, my friend caught a Bass that weighed exactly 4lbs 15ozs. Has anyone ever seen the same fish caught again on the same day? Just curious if that was the case. Can't wait to get out again.

Good fishing guys. Fish, friends and good food is what it is all about.
Never caught the same fish in the same day but did ice the same bass two years in a row (atleast we think so). It had a large black spot on it tail. We looked through our phones for the picture after we put it back down the hole and we were 95% sure it was the same one.

Nice day of fishing & great base camp, congrats. As far as the same fish / same day, a buddy & I were ice fishing a small pond in Sutton a few years back, when he had a flag go up. We went out to check it out, he set the hook, but, his mono leader popped off at his main line. Five minutes later, a different flag went up further over. When he set the hook & brought the 3 LB bass up on the ice....there was the leader/shiner/ hook from the pop off dangling from its mouth.
