Kempenfelt bay ice report

Well guys here it is i am nnot no germ but i can tell ya the ice is what ice the bay is still wide open with a little shore ice just starting to form.
but in the barrie marina there is a very inconsitant 2 to 4 inches with a warm flow in the one end very weird lookin ice i stay away from that all together but out from dock g there is some ok ice i have been out there with a number of people on the ice or on the docks for the most everyone is nailing the perch in there and a few good 10 inchers pulled out of the marina so far and have seen too pike in there with my aqua view. I almost forgot open water is still in the marina to th west so be carefull. so there it is if anyone can add to that give er anyways tightlines and will keep you guys up to date best i can

Stay out of the Marina,it still is not the safest place to be.Buddy called last night,a young lad went in,right by a dock.Thank fully he got out. >:(The docks draw the heat from the sun,causing it to melt and weak,n the ice.
It,s your life,but dont take the little ones out there.Wait til the new year,it will be safe by then I hope.

Dont get me wrong.I think that marina is a great place to take the young,ns.Easy access and lots of little ones bitting to keep them amused.Just hate to see something bad happen to one of them.

Today the bay had some ice on it(not walk worthy)but it is there.Went out as far as johnson beach from what I could see.Now lets hope some damn fool dosent try going out there this weekend.

was out today in the marina all the unsafe ice we had in the bay is gone right back to open water. the marina is still under ice but it is the worst looking ice i have ever seen i have been fishing off the dock ice is not safe for a duck let alone me

Seen several back bays of the Ottawa R. open up pretty guick with all that rain, runoff and warm weather   Hopefully the temps will drop quick

Sawlog your getting me confused here lad . I thought you lived somewhere in the Penetang, Midland area and I keep seeing you post stuff mentioning the Ottawa River . Did you move .

LOL.  TD  I'm always on the go   But home base is Penetanguishene on the point overlooking Giants Tomb .  Inlaws are up in Petewawa and home away from home is Algonguin where I spent my vigilent youth   I'll drive 2-4 hours one way, have a great day fishin and be home for supper with fresh brookies, splake, crappie, eyes, pike and maybe even a ling once I fiqure em out

  Hey no worries sawlog... just to let everyone know kempenfelt bay is locked up about half way to minets point dont think the ice is safe by any means... Im going to go out today just to drill some holes with my trusty dewalt to see just how thick the ice is and yes will have a floatsuit on for this little trip and long rope and a few good men to pull me out just in case lol....anthow will fill you guys in more when i get back with some numbers for ya tight lines

Numbers ya right...lol  the ice in the bay is no were near safe for a duck so instead of going swimming to get some ice thickness i figure i will give er till Monday or Tuesday before trying to go on it so tightlines and i would stay out of the bay for a little bit longer the marina has some good 5 inches in it but is not consitant so b carefull

  ok boy and girls there is anywere from 6 to 16 inches in kempenfelt  there is a good 8 inches at minets point . be careful walking out from the fountain there is a warm flow there to the south west of the fountain
but lots of good ice around it  but please be careful as always well tight lines and hope to see ya on ice

To add to this,the north side of the bay up to the 5 line seems to be anywhere from 8-14 inches.There are a few soft spots along the edge where the street flow come in.Ice is not consistent so play safe.

Oh yea,you guys that want to make those 2x2 holes with your spuds,please mark you holes thanks.
