Pike weekend to remember (pics)
« on: Jan 18, 2016, 08:28 AM »
Hi all,

After a one flag day, the fishing really picked up in the Belgrades. I think we lucked out with the ice being around 4-5 inches and no one bothered coming out other than a few other groups staying close to their cars. Every fish pictured is different!  Safe to say we will come back here as long as we can.

All fish were released safely and the ice was pretty messy all weekend. 4-5 inches of black but some gross slush on top after the weekend snow. Yesterday the ice cracked a bit when we were fighting a like all standing around the same hole, wouldn't suggest putting anything heavy out there yet.

We may come back in the spring and good luck to all that get to experience this every weekend, don't take it for granted!

40 incher!

Wow!! The 40 incher is a cocker!

That looks like a day of days. Will the 40 incher end up mounted?

It came right at sunrise too, we were all pretty shocked/half asleep. We let everything go this weekend and if it were anything over 24lbs I think it'd end up mounted haha

Nice pike and there's a monster white perch in there also ;D

I agree.  It was tough going on foot on the ice this weekend.  That darn slush made dragging a sled a real chore.

Dragging the sled was offensive haha and is that a pretty decent white perch? The first one I've actually ever seen

Awesome post, what a day!
May God bless and keep you always, may your wishes all come true.
May you always do for others and let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars and climb on every rung,
May your hands always be busy, may your feet always be swift.
May you have a strong foundation when the winds of changes shift.
May your heart always be joyful, may your songs always be sung.
May you stay forever young.

Thank you, we were hanging in 20-30 feet of water and I'm told they go deeper pending the lake you're on  as the season goes on before the spawn run
