Strikemaster Mag 2000 issue
« on: Jan 03, 2016, 03:40 PM »
Hello guys
Starting out the 2016 season with auger issues. My strikemaster mag 2000 has a throttle issue and an idling issue. First off with the throttle when you push the throttle it feels loose/sloppy and when drilling holes it doesn't Rev up high enough to drill holes without binding up. I already moved the throttle linkage to the 3rd hole (closest to the throttle) to see it it would tighten it up. Secondly it doesn't idle unless your giving it some throttle. If anyone has any helpful tips on where to start also if anyone has a carb breakdown diagram that would be awesome
 Thanks for the help guys.

Fill auger tank 1/4 w/proper oil/gas mix to that add Seafoam 2oz or more ...mix ....run auger till warmed up...then kill motor via the choke .....let sit half hour repeat ...let sit over night ...should fix some of the woes .

Should add location to your profile...may be some dealer near you

Sounds like you have some problems. Check out H2outfitters 17207 198th Ave, Big Lake MN # 763-262-2628 Ask for Bill or Tim. They are a Strike Master, Master service Center. They have my Mag 2000 running like a raped ape.

I had a the same idling problem as you do with my Mag 2000. I ended up taking apart the carb, cleaning it and rebuilding it with a carb kit. It now runs great. I am not sure about the throttle issue though. What kind of carburetor is on yours?

Give this book a look and check what kind of carb your auger has.

D Rock Ice has replacement carburetors as well as rebuild kits...buddy put one on his 2000 after a carburetor rebuild didn't do the trick

call them to make sure you get kit or carb ...have your make model and serial number handy

Fixed it guys! New carb kit and adjusted the throttle linkage. Works like brand new now!
