sonar attraction?
« on: Dec 25, 2015, 09:33 AM »
have you ever wondered if the click of the flasher actually attracted fish?  i mentioned that to a buddy the other day, and he said he wondered that before too.  has anyone ever seen anything about this studied by science?  whats your thought/theories on this?

I have seen the big sunfish bite shut down by the flick of the switch on a vex, 3 minutes later he left and the bite was on again..

I have one, but don't always use it because of that..

Sonar is strong stuff..

Have witnessed the same thing as Ice Scratcher. But only in shallow water. Vexilar, Marcum etc.

I like the difference it makes when using the 28 as opposed to all the other vex's I've heard. I don't know any other finders that have as quiet of a hum as the vex28.

never seen adverse reaction to a sonar ever. gets me onto them and then able to pick them off from the top one by one. if i see them not biting i might try turning it off to see if they bite, but the camera will let me know if they are still there and just tight liped.

In shallow water I have watched the fish on camera freak out upon entering the sonar cone of my fl8. Even with the suppression  cable in use. I have read elsewhere that the larger fish are more prone to this do to larger lateral line. This was always in 10 ft or less.
