Thanks for the info. I purchased an Ion this year but have yet to use it. I'm looking forward to it. I've been thinking if I should get a second battery or not. I'm not really sure how many holes one charge will do. What's your experience been? Not sure I need a second battery, but a good sale is always a good reason to buy more gear.

I've never killed a battery. I've drilled over 20 holes in 3' of ice. But I have decided to get rid of all augers except my ion. I plan on using it everyday I fish. So I'd rather be safe then sorry especially when hours from home. Wanted to get a spare battery but didn't want to spend 150 + tax and shipping. So I seen it on sale and snagged one up. I love my ion.

I couldn't resist it anymore. Stopped by the local lake on the way home from work and tried out the Ion. There was only 6 inches of ice but wow... The Ion cut through it like butter and quiet. I cannot wait to get out there and use it. I'm going to purchase the extra battery just because of the good sale. Again, thanks for the info!!
