why are you using a wrap in the first place? it deadens the vibrations of fish bites.

i use only 13 fishing wicked rods (19"UL) to get the most vibrations from a rod and get the fastest hook sets too. also, i use frabill titanium strike indicators so i can watch them breathing on my jigs.

from the sounds of it, you used a cork wrap? and then watched it blow away?

i have used reel wrap on open water rods on game fish rods that have small handles and make your hands sweat. sweat isn't a problem on ice tho and the fish aren't game fish.

maybe i don't understand if it's a question or comment.

I think he is referring to storing hooks n line on tip ups ? I bought Velcro strap from Home Depot and cut to length.Less $ then at the bait shops .

Just wrap your line snug around the spool and then LIGHTLY stick the hook point in your braid.

Stays put pretty good, and comes right back out if you dont bury the barb.

I've never had any luck with hooking my hook into the line, hook always came out. But when I had my old traps I used rubber bands. Worked ok just had to replace them every once in a while. But I bought new jack traps last year and bout reel wraps to go on them. Love them, and works much better! You won't be disappointed

If you had Max traps you wouldn't need reel wraps. They have a hook keeper designed into them.
