I live in coeur d alene, Idaho.  Thinking about going to Montana to ice fish.  Just don't know where to go.

I hear ya I'm looking too, I target perch,crappie, and big northern's! like 10 inchers!! for those that dont know me I mearure 'em between the eyes! not nose to tail!

Youve got a bunch of options over in your neck of the woods for a lot of different species.  You would probably be a little more limited in what you can fish for over here unless you get east of the divide.  Flathead valley has quite a bit of variety and if the lake gets fishable ice again you could target Lakers which is probably not an option over there.  There are also some good trout lakes on the west side if thats what your looking for.  On the east side there are some great prairie lakes with quality fishing for a bunch of species and Ft Peck is one of the best ice fisheries anywhere.

Hey sihlms391, I live in Spokane WA. I'm heading to Cascade Lake in idaho this Friday the 18th, I heard on hardwater classic's Facebook page that they have 7-9'' on the north end of the lake. But I'm interested to see if anyone posts anything for Montana.
