Marcum LX-9 Open Water
« on: Aug 26, 2015, 11:43 AM »
Kind of off topic but not really, but has anyone rigged their LX-7/9 for open water with the high speed transducer? I'm trying to figure out if they make a RAM mount and the battery hook-up. Thanks!

not sure if you know, but the mount it comes with unbolts from the base and is used as a mount to what ever you want to bolt that to. you can make quick connects for adding longer wire for boat and shorten it for back into the ice pac/shuttle.
the transducer fits both ways, troller and or transome. i played around with the ice ducer in my kayak and mounted the head unit to the yaks dashboard. needs to be glued in with goop, but not sure i need one in the yak yet being i cast towards shore and they don't look towards shore.
would be okay for drift fishing in it tho.

I use my LX-7 in the boat.  I bought the hi speed ducer and mount kit from Marcum.  Comes with a gimbal mount and power cord that needs to be wired in on the boat side.  Easy install and works great.  Mount is the same as what's used inside the ice pak.
