The original plan was to hit Worden's, but something came up with my wife and the kids, so it will have to be a shorter trip. Most likely Gorton pond in the afternoon....

This may be my last time out for the hard water season. I have out-of-town stuff in Jersey next weekend. The weekend after that, I think we are going to my father in law's place up in Maine; depending on the ice up there, I may get out one more time. Good luck anyone out there today

I was thinking twin river for my wife's first time out. Not to much of a hike. Decent fishing. Any feedback on conditions?  Fish safe all.

I did and up going to Gorton. We fished about three hours, but all we managed to do was jig up a half a dozen yellow perch, with a couple jumbos in the mix. That is a deep pond… The area we fished was over 20 feet.

Halfhooked - there was well over a foot of ice. There was also a few inches of snow on top and some pretty significant slush. If you have heavy duty boots on it should be no problem, just be prepared to sink into a couple inches of bulls$%&. We parked next to the closed-down bank building near the fishing dock/gazebo. A cop was turning around in the parking lot when we pulled in and he told us it was no problem to park there since the business is closed.

It is definitely a nice pond. Besides the perch we caught, I hooked into two fish that I lost. Both ripped out a good amount of line and felt like quality fish. Bass?

One thing I should mention re:snow at Gorton's. The hike down the hill fromwhere we parked had deep snow, probably 2 feet, though we broke out tracks so it should help anybody going in the next few days

Got out on Barneys pond yesterday conditions were great but the fishing was not so great...foot of ice with maybe 8 inches of snow. I heard the fire dept was throwing people off the ice at twin rivers last year? Any problems this year? Good bass spot I usually fish in the back end.

Already a successful outing on Wilson. I didn't fall through.

Set up at 11, four fish already including a 1.69 pound bass.
Marking anything?

Sounds like you had a fine day too.  How much slush out there?
