Report - North Shore - Georgetown
« on: Mar 03, 2015, 04:59 PM »
I hit a trout-stocked pond today for a few hours.  It was obvious there were at least 2 groups there over the weekend.

15" of snow ice and it was quiet - no ice being made.  No fish at all not even a wind flag but I was not using live bait either.

Hood looks untouched - no tracks, no holes.  Not sure what parking is around there either so I'm sure that's part of it.

I'll try again on Thursday - If you want to come along PM, I'm open to company
Trust me, when the Zamboni driver says "You won't catch fish through that hole", he knows of what he speaks.

Hoods - probably due to no parking. that's been a big problem. by the time the snow banks will be clear, the ice will not be safe. this stinks but what are you going to do? One year, I dug out a snow bank at Hoods and in Danvers so I could park.

I was up that way Sunday and found surprisingly good conditions. Fish were biting too pre snow... Easy walking no slush... Hope conditions hold for this weekend

Too bad there isn't any DPW workers that go fishing and could swing by a few of these spots and punch out a few with a loader or something. Just thinking out loud. ANYBODY hear me?? ;D

How is the parking situation at Baldpate Pond? I'm sure the snowbank is a problem. Only place to park is the road.

If anyone wants company in the next 10 days,  I'm open and willing to go - I'd like to target trout but really just want to be not-in-front-of-this-screen, catching fish is a plus.

Baldpate has been hit heavy this year since parking is never an issue there. I live less a mile from the pond and there have been people fishing there every weekend and during the week.

Hey sprocket did you by any chance test out your snowman building skills yesterday haha. Fished there in the afternoon to dark

Wasn't me. I'm pretty tired of moving white stuff, even for some fun.  I reused some holes on the right side (back to the road) into the deep cove.  Nothing.

Now that my shelter is fixed I hope to get out for a good day soon.  I'd like to target trout so its either baldpate or pentucket. I'm fished baldpate a lot last year and have never really fished on p-tucket much.  Any advice for working at pentucket would be appreciated.  Pm if you don't want to keep it low key.
