Spring Bobbers and super glue
« on: Feb 25, 2015, 08:57 PM »
Quick question.  Do you guys super glue your spring bobbers to your eyelets?   Just installed a couple panfish poppers on my st croix UL set ups and the bobbers are functional but not tight.  Looking for opinions?

before using frabill titainium wires, i would use white thread and wrap them on and use florescent finger nail polish on the thread. use a spot of super glue. not much needed to keep the thread in place. you can't move the wire in or out tho, so i wanted some thing better. can't beat the frabill wires.

I never had much luck with spring bobbers. Just like feeling the bite or watching my line.

I use slip bobbers on pan fish and when jigging for bigger fish I watch the pole.

The little rubber piece that the spring bobber slides through to adjust length I use 2 part epoxy. Otherwise it never stays put. I'm not a fan of super glue, it is a very temporary emergency fix only.

I tie flies (try to tie).  I wrap the bobber to the end of the rod and add some "head cement".  I have rods that are 10 years old and look like I wrapped them yesterday.  If I want to take the spring bobber off, just take a razor to the thread.  No damage to the rod at all.
The world would be better if we all took a 6 month fishing trip twice a year.

I do like Eriksat1, super glue to hold it in place while the 2 part epoxy dries.

Yup! I do the same or make them out out guitar string or music wire and a chartreuse bead works best for me to see.
